Tim’s Story

Tim

Yeah. I gained a bit of peace to be honest. It was such a laid back thing. I do a lot of walking and biking that was just functional. Now I take more time to appreciate what is around me.  Taking in more smells, noises and block off all the ‘real man-made world’ and just enjoy nature. I’m able to put the stresses of life to one side and relax a bit more.

I learned how to do cordage. I learned how to make a fire. I learned more about foraging due to the books that you gave us. I also discovered West Kilbride Glen which I didn’t even know was there. I also learned how to put up a hammock.

Yes, definitely (feel more connected to nature than before).

Yes, (I feel more connected to other people than before) especially in smaller groups you get to know people better.

I loved it. I thought it was going to be boring, but I loved it. I thought it was going to be a walk and ‘samey’ but it wasn’t.

Definitely 100% (would recommend Woodland Wakeup sessions to others).

Yes, would like to continue. Would like to do more foraging and fire making. I didn’t intend to go off wandering more than I’d thought but I was happy to escort people. I’m hoping we can work together a lot more in the future & develop more activities to benefit ARC. I would like to volunteer with Woodland Wakeup out with the ARC sessions.

Feedback to our group (about the sessions) has been fantastic. It would be great to see it (the natural world) change through the seasons.
