Partnerships

Woodland Wakeup is all about partnership working

and regularly supports a wide variety of organisations to enhance their existing services and extend the reach of our sessions. This helps us to bring quality nature time to the communities who need it most. Information about a few of our ongoing partnerships is below: nature-connectedness really benefits everyone!

RAMH Ayrshire Wellbeing and Recovery College

Woodland Wakeup began running nature session blocks for RAMH North Ayrshire Wellbeing and Recovery College in 2021 and has since run 8+ outdoor 6-week nature programmes and 2 indoor nature craft session blocks. Outdoor sessions involve getting students out into nature to engage in activities such as campfire cooking (often with foraged ingredients!), tool work, natural crafting and mindfulness. The indoor winter sessions involved students working with natural materials to create festive decorations and gifts.

New Scots

“Since 2021, Woodland Wakeup has provided some of the New Scots with a variety of nature sessions, from adult and family indoor craft workshops in the Three Towns to kids’ nature adventure holiday camps and family fun day entertainment at Eglinton Park with fire and marshmallow toasting. Sessions have always been a fun learning experience for all, supporting Ukrainian and Syrian New Scots in settling into their new Scottish culture and raising awareness of local green spaces for them to enjoy.”

-Unity

Carers Gateway North Ayrshire (Unity)

Supporting young carers to get out to play and benefit from nature has been a priority of Woodland Wakeup’s for many years so this flourishing partnership with Carers Gateway North Ayrshire (Unity) has been wonderful. Seeing the joy on the faces of kids who are often unable to get out because of their caring responsibilities as they challenge themselves on a rope swing or relax in a hammock has been a real blessing and makes all the hard work behind the scenes totally worth it. We look forward to continuing our work with Carers Gateway to bring nature time to some of our communities’ kids that need it the most!
